Most demanded Christmas gifts

Christmas remains the one time of year when people both give and receive in the most generous of manners.
With ever-developing trends and technology, the gifts bestowed upon and accepted by individuals in society have generally grown in availability and variety. What gifts, then, have fallen into 2009’s category of the most demanded?
The ever-popular Apple Ipod remains arguably the most prominent and favored Christmas present. In particular, the Ipod Touch ($200 for 8 gb) and the Ipod Nano ($140-$150) appear among the best items to receive.
Other favorable gifts include customized Converse sneakers ($60-$80 per pair); the Eyeclops mini projector ($80), which displays video up to 60” for both indoor and outdoor use; and DJ Hero ($120), a video game that includes a turnstile.
While the aforementioned items all carry a relatively large price tag, other highly demanded gifts exist that possess a much more affordable cost. Such include iKaraoke for the Apple Ipod ($30), which dims the vocals in songs and projects the personal voice; a self-explanatory plastic snowball launcher ($30); and apparel from American Eagle Outfitters, PINK by Victoria’s Secret, and the Twilight saga ($10-$40+).
Perhaps these select gifts may be in great demand; they are not, however, ideal for people on a small budget. Cosmogirl.com recently posted to their website numerous links, articles, and visual slide shows displaying gifts for those on specific budgets. While some of the gift suggestions are perhaps a bit childish and others too feminine, many of the ideas posted are surprisingly appealing. One particular list contains items under $20 for female young adults. Examples include giant fortune cookies, chocolate gift sets, and affordable makeup and apparel.
Online media sources also offer their products for a fraction of the cost stores do. Shoppers on the hunt for popular movies, music, or books should visit Amazon.com and Booksamillion.com. Even Border’s and Barnes and Noble offer vastly greater bargains online than in their stores. The majority of these websites also offer free shipping on orders over a certain amount, a factor that further eases the cost of buying gifts.
Hopefully these items and suggestions have sparked thoughts and ideas on what to include on Christmas wish lists and what to give others for gifts.
